"There is no such thing as slavery anymore?" I stated to my sister Sarah after church one afternoon.
"Yes there is." She stated, giving me a brief explanation of what human trafficking-mostly sex trafficking- was. I was surprised but didn't think nothing of it. I really didn't understand it.
Than I read a book called I Dare You by Isabella M. In this book I found out more about what human trafficking really was. I found out that all over the world boys and girls are in slavery...
Later I read a book called Not Abandoned by Mackenzie M. This book tugged deeper at my heart stings! Human trafficking made/makes me very angry. It breaks my heart. But like some many of us I chose to ignore it, I didn't do anything to STOP it! Not even after being Dared too!
I knew God wanted/wants me to be a missionary and singer, I wasn't called to be and abolitionists!
Slavery had always bothered me, I'm a big Civil War person and have even written a book in that period. I know the C.W. took place a long time ago, but it had something to do with slavery and I believe that everyone should be free and equal.
I will say though, that now I see I was living to much in the past, I didn't realize that there was so much modern-day slavery. There are millions of estimated slaves around the world today, and I didn't even know about it! And when I did, I turned my back on it/them.
About 2 months ago, several nights in a row I had dreams about being in a human trafficking brothel or something of that sort. I didn't think much about it...until... I was reading an article in The Kings Princess magazine about us not stepping up and taking a stand against this awful trade. It talked about God not having to use you but wanting to use YOU! While I was reading this story it was like God slapped me in the face, it was like I realized I had to so something. These dreams I was having was God's way of telling me to get up and take a stand!
The next day I sought ways to end this, my friend and her sister sent me multiple information on the subject. Than I got the idea...I would make Holiday Cards and sell them, the proceeds would go to STOP human trafficking! My sister Chloe agreed to help me (she's the craft girl, not me. I'm the organizer, lol) and now we are selling these cards!
Your help and gift matters! Every card you buy will help end this trade! Think of the many souls around the world in slavery, think of the girls in brothels crying for help! WE HAVE TO HELP THEM!
To join the fight and end this, comment and give me your email. The comments are private until I post them so I will not post your email! It'll just give me a email to send my email to and than you can ask questions about your order/gift! All proceeds will go to International Justice Mission, www.ijm.org Your help matters SO much!
And you know, I realized that even though your specific calling might not be, being an abolitionist, but it is at the same time! Hang in there with me a minute, as Christians we are to shine God's light and love, and take a stand against evils of this world. So it is are calling to be an abolitionist, we are to end this evil! It is are God given duty to take a stand against sin and be a Sunbeam. Therefore we are to fight and end human trafficking.
So fellow Abolitionist, lets press toward the mark and end HUMAN TRAFFICKING!!!!!!
Philippians 3:1(KJV)
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
