Beth:  Hello Livy, thanks for joining me here for this interview!

Livy: Hey there, Beth! I’m so happy to be here with you today!

Beth: Okay, do you mind if we start with some random questions?

Livy: Sure thing, fire them at me!

Beth: What's your favorite book?

Livy: Hmmm… my favorite book… that’s a tough one since I love to read so much, that I like a lot of books! I think my favorite would have to be the series “The South Seas Adventures” also called “The Abby Series” by Pamela Walls. But of course, I absolutely LOVE “The Secret Soldier” 

Beth: Aw, thanks!

Livy: You’ve heard my favorite books, but now I’d love to hear what yours are! What are your favorite books, Beth?

Beth: Hmmm.... that would be hard for me, as well! I absolutely   love Mary Connealy's books! Two of my favorite series are,  Sofie's Daughters and The Kincaid Brides!!!!

 What are your favorite candy?

Livy: My favorite candy is hands down Starburst, but then again, Skittles, Gummy Bears, and other things (especially chocolate!)  are really delicious too!

Beth: YUM!

Livy: Do we share the same favorite sweets? Tell me what your favorite candies would have to be.

Beth: Ohhh, I love Starburst and Skillets, too! I really like Whoppers!

Livy: Oh, yeah! I really like Whoppers too!

Beth: What's your favorite movies?

Livy: My all time favorite movies are no doubt “Despicable Me 1 and 2”, they are absolutely hilarious! You should totally see them!

Beth: Cool!

Livy: Have you seen those movies? What are your all-time favorite movies, Beth?

Beth: No, but hopefully I will soon! That's a hard one! I really love Beyond The Mask, Grace Unplugged, Mom's Night Out, and Faith Of Our Fathers! I cried watching that one! 

 Who's your favorite band/singer?

Livy: My favorite band/singer would have to be Toby Mac. His Christian music is so fun and uplifting, I’m pretty sure my brother and I have all his albums; we like Toby Mac so much!

 Do you like Toby Mac? Who are your favorite Christian bands/singers?

Beth: Oh, YES!!!!!! I LOVE TOBY MAC!!!!!!!!! But, my absolute FAVORITE would be GROUP1CREW!!!!!!!!!!

Livy: Cool. I like Group1Crew too, although I have only heard one or two of their songs.

Beth: Okay, so you've read my first book, The Secret Soldier?

Livy: Yes, I read your book “The Secret Soldier” earlier this year. It’s one of the best books I have ever read! I’m not kidding with you, either! You are a very talented writer. You write from your great Christian mind and heart whatever the Lord leads you to write, which I think is the most wonderful thing in the world!

Beth: Thanks Livy, that means the WORLD!!!

 On a scale 1 to 10, what do you rate it?

 Livy: On a scale of one to ten on rating your book, I would have to say it’s a 9. It is just that good!

Have you rated what you think is the best rating for your book, Beth, since after all, you wrote it? 

Beth: Thanks so much! No, I've not rated it! I think it rates according to how much it blesses someone to me! So, if you were blessed that's a good rating in my heart!

Livy: Yes, you blessed me by sending it to me and I really enjoyed reading it! Everyone who reads it will be blessed my your Christian writings!

Beth: Thanks a ton!

Who is your favorite character?

 Livy: My favorite character in “The Secret Soldier”  I think would have to be the main character, Becky. She doesn’t back down to adversaries, she does what she deems to be right in the Lord, she is a very admirable character!

I know since you wrote the book that you probably like all the “good guy” characters but if you had to pick just one as your favorite, who would it be?

Beth: Like you, probably Becky! The descriptions you gave of her are pretty much what I feel about her!

 What is your favorite part?

Livy: My favorite parts of your book are when Becky is on the battle field and a cannon is shot right toward her but she survives without a scratch. At that moment Becky realizes that it was the Lord who saved her from dying right there and then, becoming very emotional, she gives her life over to God! My other favorite part is once Becky finally comes home from the battle and is greeted by all her loved ones. I could go on… let’s just say if I could, I would call practically the whole book my favorite part! Ha-ha-ha!

Beth: Thanks so much! I love Becky's redemption scene, as well!

What message does the Secret Soldier deliver to you?

Livy: The message that the book “The Secret Soldier” gives to me is that even the hardest hardened soul against the Lord will someday hopefully come to know the Lord as their Savior, and live for Him for the rest of their lives! What thing could be any better than that?

 What other messages were you trying to get through in “The Secret Soldier”, Beth? I hope I didn’t miss any important points!

Beth: Nothing could be better! All the points you gave! And I wanted to show how wrong slavery was but while wrapping a deep story around it! Becky was "a slave to a hard life" so she feels a desire to free those who are held captive in slavery! All while missing the fact that she was a slave herself to sin, not just a hard life!

Livy: Yes, I think slavery is and was a very terrible thing.

Beth: Yes, that's so true.

Livy: Awww, you don’t have to thank me, I want to thank you for having me since if you hadn’t written the book we wouldn’t be here having the interview! You are a wonderful, Christian author, Beth, keep it up!

Thank you Jesus for giving Livy such a sweet heart, she is always quick to compliment people and make them feel like gold!!!!! She has been such a great friend to me, and a HUGE fan of  my writing!
